    Butterbean & Garlic Spread

    Jul 4, 2021 · 15 Comments

    Jump to Recipe

Creamy and satisfying, this butterbean spread is a perfect dip for the season bursting with fresh, aromatic flavors.

"Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest." -Leo Babauta

Today's recipe was an unexpected delight. I was making a appetizer board for dinner and the intention was to have a lot of small, simple things to pick on and enjoy alongside homemade flatbreads. This consisted of various cheeses, Renaissance oil, roasted peppers, and a dip of some sort.

Aside from keeping the meal simple and low-key considering it had been one of the warmest nights of the season thus far, I also wanted to use ingredients I had on hand.

This butterbean dip proved that not everything has to be complicated to be delicious or include special mystery ingredients to impress the crowd. Today, I'm utilizing pantry staples and evergreen herbs to season. It's a delicious spread for flatbreads or toast (think crostini or toasted ciabatta rolls for a sandwich in place of mayo), it's also great for a veggie dip and even alongside certain meats like pork or chicken. It keeps the meal feeling light yet satisfying with its creamy texture.

More Dips to Love this Seaon

Parsley Gremolata - Featuring just four basic ingredients, in addition to salt and pepper, this gremolata is bight, fresh, blissfully aromatic, and crisp on the palate. It pairs great with everything from homemade pizza to steak, pork, and fried chicken.

Strawberry & Honey Mustard Dip - This dip is sweet and spicy, and just a tad smoky, making it a great companion for snack foods like pretzels and chips, as well as for grilled favorites like chicken and pork chops.

Cilantro & Cannellini Bean Dip - This simple bean dip is equally at home as the centerpiece for dinner party appetizers as it is relaxing on the couch with a bag of tortilla chips. The best, it takes less than five minutes to make (I’m serious) and uses less than ten ingredients.
