Oats, dried fruit and coconut flakes are blended together to give you that extra burst of energy throughout the day in these adaptable snack bites.

Living the Gourmet: Candy Bar Energy Bites

Fall is a busy season and I am already feeling the pressure of the holidays. As a food blogger developing new recipes and interesting ideas for the mass is no easy task. Needless to say, Thanksgiving prep has already begun in our kitchen.

Today I am sharing an easy and fun recipe that is perfect for using up all that leftover Halloween candy you'll soon have on hand in a few weeks.

These candy bar energy bites are perfect on the go snacks. They even make perfect gifts for neighbors, teachers, friends and family. I'll be sharing a fun and easy tutorial tomorrow on that, but today let's focus on just how easy this recipe is.

Living the Gourmet: Candy Bar Energy Bites

All you need are oats, dried fruit of your choice (I used dried cranberries), coconut flakes and your favorite candy bar. I added a drizzle of honey to bind it all together, then rolled them in extra coconut flakes. Enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container to have on hand throughout the busy week!

Catherine, The problem with making these candy bar energy bites is that they wouldn't last long enough to make it to the gift stage! They do look great! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Catherine, this is a great and simple way to enjoy a treat on the go. Of course, I could easily eat these just sitting down too.

No doubt your kitchen will be busy this holiday season.

    Happy fall.
