Pierogi’s with Sautéed Garlic and Onions

Feb 27, 2014 · 15 Comments

Come my darling, come walk with me
For we are going on a sweet journey
There have been times when you did not see
When you did not hear the melody
It sways; it lulls and fills your heart
Yet, you did not hear the music start
Come my darling, let us sway
Let your troubles fly, fly
To the land of far away

Catherine

Ingredients:

Polska Foods Peirogi
1 cup chicken broth
3 cloves garlic – chopped
¼ tsp. red pepper flakes
¼ tsp. salt
½ red onion – sliced
½ cup Italian parsley – chopped
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
Grated Parmesan cheese
Cook Pierogi’s as directed.
Heat a large frying pan with the olive oil and butter; add the garlic and onion and saute until the onion is softened and the garlic fragrant.
Add the chicken broth, parsley and seasonings; gently simmer for a minute or two.
Plate the Pierogi’s and top with the broth and grated cheese.

That's a nice way to eat dumplings. We usually have them simply with a dash of sour cream:)

I love pierogis! When I lived in NH I would go to a little off-the-beaten-path garden center where the owners also sold their homemade pierogies. They had a cabbage variety that was so delicious! I'll have to give your recipe a try.
