0
1 cup oats
1½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ tsp. salt
¼ cup sugar
5 tablespoons butter
¼ - ½ cup milk
Preheat Oven 350 degrees:
Combine the oats, flour, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix; add the butter and work with your fingers into crumbs. Slowly, add the milk to form dough. Adjust the milk to the dough; you may not need all of the milk. Do not make your dough too sticky.
Lightly dust a clean surface with flour to roll out the dough to a ¼ inch thickness. Fit into a 9 inch pie shell and bake for 10 – 12 minutes.
Remove from the oven to cool.
For the Filling:
6 pears – peeled and sliced
Juice of ½ lemon
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
Combine all of the above in a bowl and toss. Place in cooled pie crust shell.
For the Topping:
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
5 tablespoons butter
½ tsp. cinnamon
Combine all of the above in a bowl and work with your fingers to form crumbs.
Place the crumbs generously over the pears. Use the left over dough to form hearts or your choice of shapes over the pie.
Bake 40 -45 minutes.
Enjoy with Love,
Catherine

Catherine... That is a scrumptious looking pie! I've never had a pear pie and I love the pairing of oats with the fruit. It would add some great texture and with the topping, the flavors must pop. Thanks for the recipe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
