I find it surprising this recipe has never made it to this blog since it has been made for years now in our family.
One of the most memorable moments for me is my thirteenth birthday party, where these burgers turned out to be an unexpected hit. Needless to say, they always bring back good memories for me.
They remind me of warm days and barbeques. Sitting around the fire toasting marshmallows, running around on the lawn with young cousins, and laughing the hours away.
May the summer bring more beautiful memories and joyous moments.
For Summer Burgers You Will Need:
2 lbs. ground beef
¼ cup ketchup
1 egg
4 oz. oats
4 oz. oats
3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tps Ground Black Pepper
2 tps Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
In a large bowl combine all above ingredients. Shape burgers into about ¼ inch thick patties and cook until golden char on either side or until desired preference. (Medium rare baby ;D) Ahem…moving right along…
To plate, toast hamburger buns or Italian loaf. Dress up with tomatoes, lettuce, a splash of ketchup or Worcestershire sauce…and don’t forget the cheese. Time to party.
Keep a cold drink nearby.
Cheers lovelies,
Tammy

Again I never would think of putting the burgers on bread - but they look better then the ones on the bun. Sandie♥

Add a nice slice of red onion and I'm a happy camper. Looks and sounds heavenly. Nothing like homemade either.
Have a terrific day Catherine. Big hugs. ☺

Tammy, The oatmeal is an interesting addition. I'm guessing that it binds the meat together better? The finished spicy burger looks great! I'd use Heinz Hot Tabasco Ketchup on mine...and Medium Rare is the only way to go! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
