We are pleased to bring you our exclusive interview with Chef Hugh Acheson on his new book, The Broad Fork & his current effort with Newman's Own, 'Green For Good.'

Living the Gourmet: The Broad Fork w/ Hugh Acheson

The Broad Fork exudes classic Acheson humor from the moment you open its pages. Take note the opening line is, What the hell do I do with kohlrabi?.

Each page delivers, not only humor, but a sense of hominess sprinkled with earthy tones and approachable dishes. Chef Acheson demystifies many 'exclusive' foods like kohlrabi, which he so deliciously pairs in a setting of lobster, fennel and curry butter, among other dishes.

In keeping with the theme of his recipes, The Broad Fork itself is a sturdy book with thick, stylized pages filled with vibrant photos, hearty recipes that cater to all your seasonal needs and explores, in depth, kitchen techniques that will make you re-think the definition of home-cooking.

Today, we are chatting with Chef Acheson, whom you make recognize from Bravo's Top Chef, or maybe you are fan of his James Beard award winning cookbook, A New Turn in the South: Southern Flavors Reinvented for Your Kitchen. Chef Acheson actually holds two JB Awards, the second he won for best chef, Southeast.

The Chef is sharing some of his favorite summer salads as well as his latest collaboration with Newman's Own. Chef Acheson is inviting consumers nationwide to take their summer salads from same-old to sensational for an opportunity to donate $35,000 to a charity of their choice. Anyone can enter. Just share your favorite salad recipes by visiting www.NewmansOwn.com/GreensforGood!

Enjoy with Love,
Catherine

Whoa, here you are with another celebrity chef we enjoy seeing on Top Chef and other such shows. You taking the time to correspond with little people like me over the years lifts you to a very level in my mind.

What a great cause this is. I so love a great salad. I've never tired Newman's salad dressing. I'm going to try them now.

    You're famous I tell you.

Have a fabulous day Catherine. Big hugs. ♥♥♥
