I’ve always had an affinity for stone fruits. Peaches, nectarines, cherries- they are are delicious in all forms be it fresh, pie, cake, or preserves.
There’s something to me that is so inviting about peaches. The bright yellow and red hues, some white and pink. Peaches are both delicate and unique, and in the Chinese culture represent immortality, happiness, sensuality, and prosperity.
I was recently inspired to revisit this old favorite of mine and felt it was in need of a visual refresh. The original recipe was printed in June of 2012.
I remember when I originally made these. Back then, LTG was just a small hobby blog for me where I would blog about favorite recipes and occasionally share some brief meanderings of my day. So, it is always both enjoyable and memorable to go back and see how we have come along.
While much has changed, I am glad that some things have not. This is my little corner of the universe. Where I share many fond connections. Where the love of food has brought many of us together, and still is the glue that connects us.

- 1 cup of fresh peaches (about 2 medium peaches – skin removed), diced plus 1 tablespoon of flour
- 2 cups of AP flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 tsps. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- 2 tbs. melted butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar, for topping
