As the golden leaves drift down and the air takes on that familiar chill, the kitchen once again becomes the heart of the home. The scent of butter and sugar mingling with spice and warmth feels like a gentle welcome to the season ahead.

This Chocolate Pecan Pie is a celebration of everything we love about fall - rich, nutty, sweet, and warmly spiced. It's a twist on the Southern classic - buttery, nutty, and deeply indulgent, with the richness of chocolate layered beneath a glossy, caramelized pecan filling. Served slightly warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it's pure comfort on a plate.

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • As stated above, it combines the best of chocolate pie and classic pecan pie in one dessert.
  • Its simple ingredient list and fuss-free preparation makes it perfect for Thanksgiving or any holiday gathering.
  • The filling bakes into a gooey, fudge-like texture while the pecans add crunch and depth.

Ingredient List and Recipe Notes

Our Chocolate Pecan Pie features a little twist. We make crust with cake mix and a splash of apple juice for a delicious and simplified take on pie crust. Here is a shopping list of what you'll need:

  • Yellow cake mix
  • Oats
  • Butter
  • Egg
  • Apple juice
  • All-purpose flour
  • Sugar
  • Light corn syrup
  • Salt
  • Vanilla
  • Pecans
  • Chocolate chips

Tips for Success

  • Toast your pecans lightly before adding them to the filling for a deeper, nuttier flavor.
  • If the crust edges brown too quickly, cover it with foil halfway through baking.
  • The pie sets as it cools, so don't overbake - a slight jiggle in the center is what you are looking for.

    Dear Catherine,
Boy are you a pioneer in pie baking! You are fantastic when you whip up these dessert or meals. I never have tasted Pecan pie and Chocolate Pecan Pie well that takes it over the edge. Must be scrumptious! I like the crust that you made. The M&M's really add that party effect..I also love the way you have all the decorations of the leaves around the pie. I can't wait for those chilly fall days...The Spiced Apple Cider drink is right up my alley. Love these type of drinks, especially when the fall is really upon us..Good post and what delicious recipes..thanks for sharing. Have a blessed week ahead..
    Dottie 🙂
