We would like to take this occasion to remind our readers of the work being done by Fisher House, which since 1990 has saved military men and women and their families an estimated 200-million dollars in lodging and transportation, providing them with a ‘home away from home.’
Fisher House also operates the Hero Miles Program, which uses donated frequent flier miles to bring family members to the bedside of wounded soldiers. Fisher House also operates Hotels for Heroes, which uses donated hotel points to provide family members lodging near their wounded loved ones. Because of these programs, thousands of wounded military personnel who otherwise would have endured the pain of their injuries and the hardships of recovery alone, were instead united with their families.
Living the Gourmet did a recent feature on Sobieski vodka, and I was pleased to learn about their Save and Donate program, through which consumers are eligible for a refund on every bottle of Sobieski vodka purchased now through the end of March 2014. For every refund processed, Sobieski will match the amount as a donation to Fisher House.

The Grape Escape
Ingredients:
1 cup grape juice
2 oz. Sobieski Vodka
2 tablespoons cherry juice
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 ice cubes
Combine all of the above ingredients in a blender and blend.

Catherine... Our veterans are amazing! We just can't thank them enough... My father died in WWII, right at the end of the war in Europe. I wasn't 3 years old yet... Sorry to have missed knowing him. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
