Combine the ingredients for the topping and crumble with your fingers so that it resembles little pebbles. Distribute this over the batter.
Gently loosen the edges with a spatula and place a serving plate over the pan and turn over.
(I suppose this is an upside down cobbler)

Okay. I am reading this post and tomorrow is 7 years that my mom passed. And you comment about every time the Lord closes a door he opens a window, the first time I heard that was the day my dad passed. I was sitting in the room with him at hospice and someone visiting another patient said that to someone in the room. I knew at that moment my dad was not going to make it through the day. My niece had gone into labor that morning, a month premature. He died at 5:40 and his 10th great grandchild was born at 7:40. Sorry about the sad thoughts on such a delicious looking recipe but you words bring up so much emotion.
I am going to make the cobbler this weekend in honor of my mom, your mom and my dad.

Hi Catherine, it's a beautiful dessert and quote related to your closed one. Mother's Day is coming and this would be a great dessert to give my mum a treat! (She has been asking me to make her something with apple)
Melissa crowe says
I have all ingredients except buttermilk. Can I substitute reg milk?
Catherine says
Dear Melissa, You can make your own sour milk by combining 1 cup of regular milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar. Let it rest for a few minutes and curdle. That can be your substitute for buttermilk. I hope this helps. Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy the cobbler!
Blessings,
Catherine
