Christmas is hailed as a time of joy, giving, forgiving, and surrendering. Have you ever stopped for a moment to wonder why just this time of year represents such soulful renewal?
Why when the skies turn gray, the trees lay bare, and the air is laced with an icy sting do we celebrate the 'wonders' of the season?
If you think about it more, how poetic actually. We choose this time of year to gather with those we love, near and far. We string lights around, fill our homes with small comforts, cheerful music, and remind ourselves it's the most wonderful time of year. In a season where the days are black and white, we create our own beauty within our homes and share that with others. I think there's a certain beauty in that tradition that's celebrated throughout the world.
So, if chaos or loss fills your heart, I hope you remember how beautiful it is that we still choose to celebrate beauty and kindness, and all in the spirit of Christmas.
Today, in that honor, I'm raising a toast to brighter days ahead. May the spirit of this season transcend and light the way for us going forward.
This Eggnog Martini evokes the warmth of the season with notes of vanilla and almond, mixed together with fresh nutmeg, rich eggnog, then smoothed out with a splash of vodka.
There's a great debate when it comes to martinis. Should you use gin or vodka? Well, it comes down to personal preference. Gin offers a slightly more complex taste with its botanical flavor, while vodka offers a smoother, somewhat more modern taste. Neither is right or wrong. So whichever you have on hand or prefer will work perfectly here.
For the finishing touch, I rimmed these gorgeous new PINK martini glasses from the Barbie™ x Dragon Glassware® collection, with white chocolate and gold sprinkles. The collection offers a wide range of drinkware including coasters with the iconic Barbie™ color, prints, and style.
