    Seven Daughters Wine

Written by Living the Gourmet, a trusted food and lifestyle site since 2008.

Seven Daughters Wine, based in California, begins with the premise that 'great wine is best paired with even better friends,' creating a product that is adventurous and experimental but at the same time crowd pleasing.

Seven Daughters Wine began in 2008 with the careful selection of seven different varieties of wine - seven 'daughters' - and were combined into the balanced perfection of the Winemaker's Blend. Through expert and careful selection, Seven Daughters Red and White Winemaker's Blends becomes a wine is far better than the sum of its parts, a wine that is as perfectly suited for a dinner party as it is a casual evening at home.

Since the release of the Red and White Winemaker's blends, Seven Daughters has grown beyond their inaugural offerings to include more traditional varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. Despite this growth in portfolio, the Seven Daughters philosophy has remained the same - that great wine is best paired with even better friends.

Living the Gourmet had the good fortune to sample several varieties of Seven Daughters Wine.

The White Winemaker's Blend is a crisp and balanced wine, opening with mandarin orange and lychee flavors. The citrus continues into an intense tangerine flavor.  The presence of Gewürztraminer compliments the wine with a closing note of spice.

The Seven Daughters Pinot Noir is a smooth, aromatic, and exuberant wine, rich with succulent red fruit ranging from blackberries and dried cherries.

The Seven Daughters Red is a blend of seven carefully chosen grape varieties.   By combining the best grapes that California has to offer, Seven Daughters allow the unique differences in each to combine for a wine that is even better than the sum of its parts.

Deep red in color, the wine opens with red fruit ranging from blackberries to dried cherries, with a compliment of Syrah and a closing note of peppery spice.  The Red is smooth with deep aromatics.

The Sauvignon Blanc starts with layered aromas of lime and melon, and grows into zesty fruit flavors with crisp acidity.  The Seven Daughters Sauvignon Blanc is grown in gravelly soil, and the spicy flavor this imparts would prove a nice compliment to a range of dishes.

The Seven Daughters Moscato boasts a sweet floral aroma of honeyed peach, and a flavor whose refined fruitiness is well balanced with the natural fragrance of the moscato grape.

It is probably a lovely wine although I have to admit that personally I'm not a lover of wine.
