With fall baking heavily underway, make this simple spice mix your go-to for easy prep and exquisite flavoring each time.

Living the Gourmet: The Perfect Autumn Spice Mix

This Chinese 5 Spice inspired mix is a warm and rich blend of all that autumn embodies.

If you cannot find vanilla powder, you can exclude it from the mix and use vanilla extract as directed in your recipes. If you do use vanilla extract, substitute 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla powder for 1 teaspoon extract.

Another favorite addition to this spice blend is black pepper. In Chinese 5 Spice, there is a hint of Szechwan pepper that adds to the 'warmth' of the blend, which applies here as well, along with the subtle hints of ginger and cloves.

It is perfect in pies, cakes, cookies, muffins, even sprinkled on top of lattes. So enjoy and delight in the flavors of autumn!
