The weather outside may be cold but the cooking and joy of the holidays will warm your heart.
Ingredients:
10 lb. Turkey
Carrots – cleaned and whole
Celery – cleaned and whole
2 cups chicken or turkey broth
For the Rub:
8 tbs. butter or margarine
1 tbs. Bell’s Seasoning
4 tbs. Uncle Dougie’s Sweet N' Snappy BBQ Sauce – or your choice
Clean turkey and pat dry.
Combine the Bell’s Seasoning with the butter and rub all over the turkey skin.
Preheat Oven 325:
Place carrots and celery at the bottom of the pan with the broth.
Place turkey on a rack in the roasting pan and roast.
Half-way through the cooking process rub with Uncle Dougie's BBQ sauce. Cover the breast part of the turkey with a loosely fit aluminum foil tent and finish cooking.
Cook 2 ¾ to 3 hours or until juices run clear.
Enjoy with Love,
Catherine

In 1989, Doug Tomek decided to find a way to make spicy wings at home without the mess and added fat and calories that come along with frying. He experimented on friends and family with his concoctions and then voila! He nailed it. Not a sauce-but a marinade. As friends and family started requesting Doug’s wings at event after event, it occurred to him that he may something special and that’s when Uncle Dougie’s was born.
Today Uncle Dougie’s can be found at many grocery and specialty meat retailers throughout the Midwest, and through Uncle Dougie’s website . They ship their products all over the world.
It may have all started with a marinade, but today Uncle Dougie specializes in BBQ sauces, bloody mixes, hot sauces, rubs and more.
Their spice blends are 100% natural and their marinades are gluten-free. Uncle Dougie is proud to present products free of MSGs and chemicals, high-fructose corn syrup and any artificial flavor, color, and other questionable ingredients.
Today, Living the Gourmet is happy to present Uncle Dougie’s line of BBQ and marinades. Available in five delicious flavors, the possibilities are endless with flavors like Tomato Heaven Small-Batch Ketchup, Sneaky Spicy BBQ Sauce, Kung Fused Asian Marinade, and Sweet N’Snappy BBQ Sauce.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I decided to test the Sweet N’Snappy BBQ Sauce. From the moment I twisted the cap, I could smell the freshness. Flavor wise, it exceeded my expectations of bottled marinades. Uncle Dougie’s products are great quality. What will you create?
**I was given these products for review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Dear Catherine, Thanks for sharing such a tasty recipe with us! I have never heard of Uncle Dougie's sauce. If your Turkey looks that good it must be worth getting that sauce. I also have never had BBQ sauce on my turkey, but there is always a first time. My favorite part of the turkey is the whole wing. So your picture is very mouthwatering. I am going to my brother's for Thanksgiving, and I am bringing the book I received from you called, "Bless This Food". I will be using it for our Thanksgiving grace. Blessings for a beautiful Thanksgiving for you, your family, and friends... Dottie 🙂

This seasoning sounds so good but of course we can't get it here. I'll be brining my turkey soon but nothing as tasty as your turkey.
