Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Burgers:

  • 2 lbs. 80/20 ground beef 3/4 - 1 inch thickness - with thumb print indented in the center of the formed burger
  • Salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 tbs. Andria's Steak Sauce
  • 2 tsp. vegetable oil or butter

For the Bacon:

For the Caramelize Onions:

Additional Toppings:

  • Burger bun of your choice
  • Fresh lettuce
  • Cucumber, ribboned
  • Tomato, sliced thin
  • Avocado, sliced thin

Instructions

For the Bacon:

Preheat Oven 400 degrees F:

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place the bacon slices on the paper.
  2. Brush each slice with Andria's Barbecue Sauce.
  3. Cook the bacon for 10 - 12 minutes, or until a desired crispness is achieved.  Set aside.

For the Caramelized Onions:

  1. Heat a large frying pan.
  2. Place the sliced onions in the hot pan, and sprinkle with the sugar and salt.  Let the onions get a beautiful golden color.
  3. Add the steak sauce and toss. Set aside.

For the Burgers:

  1. Heat a large cast iron frying pan until it is very hot.
  2. Form the ground beef in to 6 oz. burgers with a thumb print in the center.
  3. Sprinkle each burger with salt and fresh ground black pepper.
  4. Place the burgers in the hot cast iron frying pan and add 1 tbs. of oil.
  5. Brush each burger with the steak sauce.
  6. Let the burgers cook for three minutes, until a nice char is formed on one side.
  7. Turn the burgers over and brush again with the steak sauce.
  8. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, or until the desired doneness is achieved.

Assemble Your Burger:

  1. Toast your desired burger bun.  I like to spread a little mayonnaise on each but for a nice golden toast.
  2. Layer your desired toppings for each burger.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • The more firm the burger feels, the more well done it is.
  • Do NOT slice into the burger and turn the burger only once.
