Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 homemade pizza dough
  • 1 cup Organic Artichoke Hearts, halved
  • 1/4 cup Organic Kalamata Olives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Organic Capers
  • 1 cup Organic Shredded Mozzarella
  • Olive Oil for drizzling
  • Organic Cornmeal for dusting pizza pans
  • 1 recipe for Basic Italian Pizza Sauce (below)

Basic Italian Pizza Sauce:

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 28oz. can Organic Crushed Tomatoes
  • Pinch of organic cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon organic salt
  • 1 tablespoon organic dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon organic red pepper flakes
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, sweat garlic and onions with a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Once the onions are translucent, add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, oregano, and red pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, lightly grill the artichoke hearts. Setaside.
  4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  5. Sprinkle a pizza pan with the cornmeal and roll out your pizza dough to fit the pan. Top the prepared dough with a few ladles of fresh sauce, grilled artichoke hearts, capers, and olives. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Bake the pizza for about 10 minutes or until the pie is slightly golden and bubbly.
  7. Remove and let cool before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
