Scale
For the Mozzarella Dippers:
- 1 lb low-moisture mozzarella, sliced into rectangles
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
- Salt, to taste,
- Black Pepper, to taste
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- 1 cup raw honey
- 2 tablespoons of your favorite hot sauce or fresh chili paste
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (I prefer raw, unfiltered ACV for this)
Instructions
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey and hot sauce or chili paste until it comes to a low simmer. Be sure not to boil and scorch the honey.
- Remove from the heat and add the apple cider vinegar.
- Transfer to a glass jar and set aside, allowing the flavors to infuse while preparing the mozzarella dippers.
For the Mozzarella Dippers:
- Prepare your dredging station with three bowls: one for the flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one for the beaten eggs, and one for the panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat the mozzarella in the flour first, then the egg wash, and finally the panko. Repeat this process twice for each dipper.
- Place the prepared dippers on the parchment-lined basket of your air fryer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket. If your air fryer has racks, line each with parchment paper. I would not fill more than two trays.
- Air fry for 12 minutes at 425 degrees F., rotating the trays and flipping the dippers halfway.
- Serve immediately with the hot honey sauce and enjoy!
