Description

Crushed ice, sweet honey, and crisp green tea come together in this refreshing Green Tea Slushie recipe for the ultimate summer drink!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 3 teaspoons loose leaf Green Paradise Blend (or your favorite sweet green tea blend)
  • 1/4 cup raw honey, divided (see instructions)
  • Ice, crushed
  • Lime slices
  • Fresh kiwi slices
  • Turbinado sugar, for rimming the glasses

Instructions

  1. Bag 3 teaspoons of green tea and set aside.
  2. Bring 3 cups of filtered water to a boil.  Remove from the heat and add the prepared tea and about 3 tablespoons of honey. Allow the tea to steep while the water cools to room temperature.  Once cooled, discard the tea bag and transfer the tea to a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to serve (at least 30 minutes).
  3. Prepare your garnishes beforehand by slicing the limes and kiwis.  To rim the glasses, run a slice of lime along the edge of each glass and then dip the glasses in turbinado sugar.
  4. In a blender, crush the ice. Fill each glass halfway with the crushed ice.  Add the sliced limes and kiwis 'tucking' them into the ice so they stay in place.  Drizzle extra honey and then add more ice until the glasses are full.
  5. Pour the chilled tea over the crushed ice and serve.  Enjoy!
