Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large Vidalia onion, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 11/2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives, for garnish
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion flakes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a dry cast iron pan over medium-high heat, caramelize the sliced onions with sugar until they have cooked down and are lightly golden.
  2. Add the garlic cloves and keep cooking until the garlic has softened and the onions are now fully caramelized.  Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce over the onions and toss.
  3. Remove from the heat and let cool until warm.  Once cool enough, give the onions and garlic a rough chop.  Set aside.
  4. In a bowl whisk together yogurt, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.
  5. Add the chopped onions and stir to mix.
  6. Garnish with chives and serve alongside your favorite chip, veggie sticks, or crackers!  Enjoy!
