  • Fresh strawberries, hulled
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Red grapes
  • Green grapes
  • Cantaloupe
  • Raw honey

For the iced tea:

Instructions

For the fruit skewers:

  1. Set up your ingredients first.  Hull the strawberries and scoop the cantaloupe with a melon baller.
  2. Skewer the fruit as shown and drizzle with raw honey before serving.

For the iced tea:

  1. Wrap the tea leaves in a cheesecloth or tea bag.  Once the water has been brought to a boil add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
  2. Steep the tea and leave until the tea has cooled to room temperature.  Remove the tea bag.
  3. Fill a large pitcher with ice and garnish with lemon slices.  Pour the steeped tea into the pitcher and serve.

Notes

**If you want to make tanghulu, follow the instructions for skewering the fruit.  Instead of drizzling with honey, bring a small bot to a boil with 1 cup water and 2 cups sugar until a thick syrup has formed (about 20 minutes).

Dip the fruit skewers into the syrup and coat.  Dip the skewers in an ice bath immediately to harden the sugar and there you have tanghulu!
