Ingredients

  • 1 tbs. vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1 tsp. baking
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • Powdered sugar,for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven 325 F.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and combine until a dough is formed.
  4. On a floured surface place the dough and cut in half.
  5. Form both halves into 12 - 15 inch logs.
  6. Place the logs on a baking sheet prepared with parchment paper.
  7. Place into the oven and bake for 35 - 40 minutes.
  8. Take out of the oven and let cool for about 15 minutes.
  9. Slice into 1/4 inch thickness, on a diagonal, and place flat on the baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, turning the slices over half way through the baking process.
  11. Let cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
