Honey Sesame Salmon

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 3/4 lbs. of salmon filet
  • parchment paper
  • Fresh scallions
  • Fresh basil

For the Marinade:

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 3 cloves of garlic - crushed or pressed
  • 1 tbs. brown sugar
  • 2 tbs. honey
  • 1 tbs. chopped fresh basil or Italian parsley
  • 1 tbs. olive oil
  • 1 tbs. sesame oil
  • 3 tsps. fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients for the rub in a small bowl and mix.
  2. Taste for seasonings.
  3. Place the salmon in a bowl and massage with the marinade.
  4. Place in the refrigerator for at least one hour or several.
  5. Line a cast iron frying pan with the parchment paper and place the salmon in the pan.
  6. Place on the stove over a medium heat and cover with another pan or tin foil.
  7. Cook for about 12 - 15 minutes or until the thickest part of the salmon reaches 135 degrees F.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil and scallions.
