  • Yield: 1 dozen blondie bars 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 extra large egg
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped candy (I used Reese's, Heath bars, Kit Kats, and Whoppers) - see recipe notes for substitutes and other variations

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.  Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together flours, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add egg, butter, and vanilla.  Stir until a thick but sticky dough forms.

Add chopped candies and fold to combine.  Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes until the sides are slightly golden and the cake tester comes out clean.  You want to be sure not to overbake your blondies.

Remove and let cool slightly in the dish before transferring, about 5 minutes.  Lift out using the paper, and transfer to a cutting board . Cut into 12 equal bars.  Serve & Enjoy!

Notes

You can you any candy or mix-in you desire.  You could even add in nuts or dried fruit too!
