Red Wine Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup white sugar

Instructions

  • Bring wine and sugar to a boil, then lower to a simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the syrup coats the back of a spoon.
  • Remove from the heat and transfer to a heat-proof bowl and let cool completely.  The syrup will thicken more as it cools and sets.
  • To serve, drizzle over ice cream or a slice of cake.
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
