Ingredients
- 1 recipe for Sweet Almond Crust
Custard:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Cara Cara slices for garnish
- Blood Orange slices for garnish
- Raw Sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together all ingredients for the custard until smooth.
- Pour the custard into the prepared Sweet Almond Crust.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the crust is golden and the center has set.
- Removed and let cool slightly on a cooling rack.
- Place the orange slices all around the pie as you desire and sprinkle with raw sugar.
- To store, cover with clingfilm and pat it down gently to the tart itself so that a film does not form over the custard. Refrigerate for several hours until it has set. Serve with whipped cream if so desired and enjoy!
