For Shanghai Blend Stir Fry:

  • 1 package Eat Smart Shanghai Blend Stir Fry
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger - sliced thin
  • 2 cloves of garlic - chopped
  • 1/2 red onion - sliced thin
  • 2 tbs. canola oil
  • 1 tbs. sesame oil
  • 2 cups uncooked brown rice

For the Steak & Marinade:

  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless sirloin steak
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbs. olive oil
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley

Instructions

For Shanghai Blend Stir Fry:

  1. Prepare the rice as directed and set aside.
  2. Heat a large frying pan with the canola oil and sesame oil. Add the ginger, garlic and red onion and sauté on a low heat until the onion is softened and the garlic is fragrant.
  3. Add the ingredients of the Shanghai Stir Fry and toss until the greens are wilted. Add the seasonings from the packet and the rice; toss and plate.

For the Steak & Marinade:

  1. Place in a food processor the butter, olive oil, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper and give a few good chops.
  2. Rub the mixture on both sides of the steak.
  3. Heat a large frying pan and place the steak in the heated pan. When the steak is a nice golden color on one side; flip and continue cooking on the other side.
  4. The firmness of the steak tells how well done the steak is. The more firm the steak the more well done the steak is. The thickness of the steak will determine the cooking time.
  5. Slice thin slices of the steak to serve with the stir fry.
